Dear colleagues!

Please be informed that the IAEA in the framework of the regional project RER9147 ‘Enhancing Member States’ Capabilities for Ensuring Radiation Protection of Individuals Undergoing Medical Exposure’ is launching a new study “Practice and Radiation doses from Imaging in Radiotherapy in the European region”, which will take place in several Phases:

Phase 1. Completion of the questionnaire and sending to the IAEA.

Phase 2. All clinics that participated in Phase 1 will be asked to provide more detailed information on imaging doses and related parameters by completing the appropriate Data Collection Questionnaires.

Phase 3. The data collected will be analyzed by the IAEA, and, if these data are sufficient, scientific papers will be prepared, as well as possibly a document to help optimize the use of images in radiation therapy.

Phase 4. In 2019, a regional meeting (conference) is planned, the participants of which will be selected from among the participants of the previous Phases. During the Meeting, approaches to visualization during radiation therapy, optimization of the visualization process and next steps in this direction will be discussed.

The level of activity in IAEA projects of institutions from Ukraine can have an important impact on further cooperation, so the Ukrainian Association of Medical Physicists asks representatives of all institutions that use imaging during radiation therapy to participate in this project.

To participate you need:

Step 1. Download the form at the link.

Step 2. Fill in the Questionnaire. (note that one Questionnaire from the Institution is required)

Step 3. Send the completed Questionnaire to j.vassileva@iaea.org and uamphs@gmail.com indicating in the subject of the letter “IAEA study on image guided radiotherapy under RER9147 project”

Questionnaires must be sent to the IAEA by November 30, 2018

But to assess the activity of Ukrainian institutions, please do so by November 25, 2018!

If one of your colleagues uses imaging in radiation therapy, but for some reason did not receive this information, please let them know about the project.

If you have any questions regarding the completion of the Questionnaire, you can consult the Ukrainian Association of Medical Physicists at uamphs@gmail.com

We hope for maximum activity!

Sincerely,
Ukrainian Association of Medical Physicists
